Zika Virus is a type of virus like West Nile, yellow fever, dengue, chikungunya and Japanese encephalitis. This virus is a member of Flaviviridae family, and it was transmitted by the Aedes mosquitoes, which is active in the daytime. These types of mosquitoes are initially found in tropical zones, but now it was present on all continents except Antarctica which causes Zika sintomas.

The first Zika virus was detected in 1947 from the Zika Forest of Uganda, Africa. This is how this virus got its name. Later it was spread over Asia, French Polynesia, then to Easter Island and in 2015, it reached to Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

Because most of the new birth babies being born with small heads and brains, which is called as Microcephaly and it is a neurodevelopmental disorder. But it is not proven that to be caused by Zika Virus. Some of the investigations are in the process to find out the link between the Zika and Microcephaly. The Government gave alert to the pregnant women’s and the people, But As of now, after Brazil, Colombia has the second-highest Zika virus infected country.
Still, there is no evidence that a woman can transmit Zika virus to their sex partners. But the health body said, still they need more research to understand this Zika issue. On Tuesday (February 23, 2016), the World Health Organization’s head said, the world faced “a long journey” to defeat Zika Virus.

Zika Virus Medicine or Vaccine:
There was no vaccine or medicine for the Zika virus attack as of 2016 February. But there is a way to prevent from the mosquito bites that was to clear the stagnant water where the mosquitoes are breed.
RIO DE JANEIRO 2016 Olympic Games will be started from August 5th of 2016. So the government of Brazil was decided to prevent the zika virus from the spreading.
Zika Virus Symptoms or Zika Sintomas:

- Take a medicine like an acetaminophen, as an alternative to aspirin. It will reduce the headaches, arthritis, fever, etc.,
- Please don’t take the medications like ibuprofen and naproxen.
Zika Infection Prevention:
Clear the stagnant water where the mosquitoes are breed.
If you are affected by Zika, then stay away from the mosquito bites for the first week of illness. Because, the Zika virus can be found in your blood on that week, it will spread the virus to another person by the infected mosquito, which one bites you.
