IPL 2018 – Ashwin talk about his play against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk

IPL 2018 News: Former Chennai Super Kings and current Kings XI Punjab off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin recently talked about his play at MA Chidambaram Stadium against Chennai Super Kings. He said that he will feel lovely when playing with the jersey of KXIP against CSK in the IPL 11th season.

After eight years of Yellow color, he will play with red. In the IPL auction, he was not retained by the Men in Yellow. He was picked up by the Preity Zinta for KXIP at Rs 7.6 crore. The price bid for Ashwin was set at Rs 2 crore as a base price, because of the price kept increasing, the Chennai-based franchise dropped and out.

In the recent interview with the Ashwin for the Press Trust of India on Monday at Chennai, he said that “I was a tad disappointed. I have been here for the past 10 years. Literally, I own that space at Chepauk. The cheer that I got every time I came on to bowl, I will miss that. The auction is very unpredictable and probably if you saw this auction, people were not going all guns blazing. I am a bit disappointed that I will not be turning up for CSK.”

He also added that “It [playing for KXIP in Chennai] will feel lovely. I will again get a chance to showcase my skills in front of my home crowd. That is all that matters to me. It is a ground that has great memories. It has been part of my meteoric rise.”

 

In the list of captaincy position for KXIP, the name of Ashwin also placed with the names of Yuvraj Singh, KL Rahul, Chris Gayle, Aaron Finch and Axar Patel. The captain of KXIP will be announced as soon as for the upcoming IPL 2018.
