Lokesh Kanagaraj, the director of the much-awaited film Leo starring Vijay, has finally confirmed that the film is part of his cinematic universe (LCU). The filmmaker, who has created a unique style of action films with Kaithi and Vikram, has said that Leo is also connected to his previous works in some way.
“I have always wanted to create a cinematic universe with my films, where the characters and stories are interlinked. Leo is also part of that universe, and you will see how when you watch the film. I don’t want to spoil the surprise for the fans, but I can say that there is a link between Leo and my other films,” said Lokesh.
The director also said that he has rewritten the template of action films for Leo, and that Vijay has carried the film on his shoulders with his tremendous performance.
“Vijay anna plays a dual role in Leo, as a gangster and a peaceful family man. He has done a lot of homework for the film, and he owns the film from the first frame to the end. His involvement is amazing, and he has given me complete freedom to execute my vision,” he added.

Leo boasts of a star-studded cast and crew, who have collaborated with Lokesh Kanagaraj for the second time.
The film features Vijay in the lead role, along with Trisha Krishnan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Menon, Priya Anand, Sandy Master, and many others in supporting roles.
The film also marks the debut of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt in Tamil cinema, who plays the main antagonist.
