MNM leader Kamal Haasan meets all TN party leaders for Cauvery issue on May 19

Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) leader Kamal Haasan had a press meet on 14th May for the Cauvery issue. In that, he said that he would like to invite all Tamil Nadu party leaders under one roof called ‘Tamil Nadu’. Also, he clarified that the meeting would be presided over by Communist leader R. Nallakannu.

Like the same, the MNM founder Kamal met all other party leaders on Monday as per the report of The News Minute. In his extended list which including BJP TN State president Tamilisai Soundararajan, TMC leader G.K. Vasan, AMMK founder T.T.V. Dhinakaran and actor Rajinikanth to participate in the meeting.

As the plan, the all-party meeting to be convened by farmers’ organisations on Cauvery in Chennai on May 19.

When addressing the press, Kamal Haasan said that “I believe that everyone will accept the invitation. When we met, no one asked me ‘what is going to come out of it?’ Some of them have even assured me of their presence. This dialogue will continue, should continue.”

After the meeting with DMK working-president Stalin said his party too was of the same view that all people in Tamil Nadu should stand united in order to get the State’s due share in the Cauvery waters, the MNM leader said. The meeting lasted for about 10 minutes.

According to The Hindu, Mr. Stalin said that “Nine political parties under the leadership of the DMK have been conducting struggles. We had decided to have a meeting on May 15, but postponed it to May 17, since the Cauvery water sharing issue will come up for hearing in the Supreme Court on May 15”.
