Punjab Government Sign MoU with Reliance Jio: The government of Punjab has signed a MoU on this Thursday with the Reliance Jio. According to the minister's statement, the government made free Wi-Fi facilities with the help of Reliance Jio to all state-owned engineering colleges, industrial training institutes and polytechnics.

The Technical Education Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said that this initial step towards the free internet to the educational institution will encourage the students to learn more and also boost up their cashless transactions.
Also he said that the Internet provider, Reliance Jio will assemble the set ups for this free Wi-Fi in all the technical educational institution across the Punjab state.
Due to the educational purposes, the Reliance Jio will block all the objectional websites on this free Wi-Fi services into the campus as per the directions by the central authorities.
The State government has also instructed to the principals of the institutions to concern about the location and the busy spot to provide the free Wi-Fi service and also about the security for the equipment.
