She also missed Christmas Day Church service due to weather and her ill issues. It was the first time Queen Elizabeth missing Christmas Day Church service since she began celebrating the holidays at Sandringham Home back in 1998.
Last month, Buckingham palace made an official announcement that Queen Elizabeth will step down from several charities and organisation head at the end of her 90th birthday. She will hand over the postings to other members of the royal family in the upcoming months.
“Her Majesty is currently Patron of more than 600 organisations and has enjoyed a close and active association with a great number of them throughout her reign,” a statement from Buckingham Palace said.
