Red Eye after Swimming: The real reason behind the Red Irritated eye after swimming is not by chlorine, but urine. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has revealed this information. According to the report of telegraph, the researchers says that the reason for eye string after swimming is may not be the chemicals.

Red Eye after Swimming is because of Urine
It is needed that we agree about the contaminants in the swimming pool with the mixer of urine and sweat along with that the chlorine in the pool water is creating the chemical compound. This Chemical compound makes our eyes to sting and red. Also, there is a difference among with the indoor and outdoor swimming pool.
The Outdoor swimming pool water reacts with the air as freely but, the indoor swimming pools has a poor air turnover, while the contaminants are accumulating in the air.
The Researchers stated that “Fresh air is important. Super-chlorination can be an effective way to rid the pool water of these by-products, but will not work if the air is saturated with irritants.”
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reveal that the pools are not clean if there is a strong chlorine smell occurred. The hygienic swimming pools shouldn't have a strong chemical smell as like our house bathrooms. Also, we can able to notice that the public toilets and bathrooms have also a strong chemical smell.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Chief, Michele Hlavsa's Healthy Swimming Program, “Swimming is an excellent way to get the physical activity needed to stay healthy. However, pool users should be aware of how to prevent infections whilst swimming.”
“That’s why it’s important for swimmers to protect themselves by not swallowing the water they swim in and to protect others by keeping feces and germs out of the pool by taking a pre-swim shower and not swimming when ill with diarrhea.”
Finally, the team of CDC suggested to the people to take more attention on the safety of pool and the people should test the chlorine level of the pool water. The Chlorine level on the pool should between on the range of 1 to 3 ppm.
