Masked Aadhaar Card

What is masked Aadhaar?

Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identification number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to every resident of India. It can be used for various purposes such as identity verification, e-KYC, subsidies, benefits, and other services.

However, sometimes you may want to protect your Aadhaar number from being misused or stolen by others. This is where masked Aadhaar comes in handy. In this article, we will explain what is masked Aadhaar, how to download it, and why you should use it.

Masked Aadhaar is a version of the regular Aadhaar card, where the first 8 digits are masked or hidden and only the last four digits are visible.

By hiding the first 8 digits of one’s Aadhaar card number, UIDAI ensures that their identity remains safe, even if the card is lost or misplaced. Masked Aadhaar is signed by UIDAI and can be used as identity proof only.
