This page sets out what the reporting on WORLDHAB is, what it is not, and where responsibility sits when a reader acts on it. Last updated: August 2026.
This is journalism, not advice
Everything here is general information for a general reader. It is not financial, legal, medical, tax or immigration advice, and it is no substitute for asking somebody qualified who is looking at your situation. A Business piece on why a currency moved is not a recommendation to buy anything, and a Science or Lifestyle piece about a treatment is not a diagnosis.
Travel is where this matters most, and it is where the site started. The visa change that made us build WORLDHAB existed in dozens of near-identical versions, none of which said which passports it applied to. We write to fill that gap and we still cannot be your consulate. Before booking on the strength of an article, check the rule with the embassy, the airline or the official immigration service, because they decide at the desk.
Accuracy, and the shelf life of a fact
Claims here are checked in good faith against sources we have seen ourselves, and how that works is on our fact-checking page. What we do not give you is a warranty that a page is complete, current or fit for a particular purpose, because news dates faster than anything else we publish. Figures get revised by the body that issued them. Recalls get widened. A rule gets delayed a fortnight after it was announced.
An article is a record of what was true when it was checked, and it carries its publication date and the date of any update. When a story moves we update the piece and say what changed rather than publishing a near-duplicate, so the address you bookmarked stays current. Where something is unconfirmed we say so instead of smoothing it into a sentence that sounds settled.
Opinion, analysis and reporting are different things
Reporting is the account of what happened, sourced and checked. Analysis is an editor with a beat drawing a conclusion from reported facts, and it says Analysis at the top. Opinion is an argument, it carries the writer’s name, and it is labelled. The label exists so you know whose judgement you are reading, and it does not shrink or slide down the page on a phone.
Views in an opinion or analysis piece belong to the person who wrote it, not to the publication or to every other writer here. Two contributors disagreeing about the same subject is a feature of running a magazine rather than an editorial failure. The rules all three formats work to are on our editorial standards page.
Links out, and other people’s material
We link to documents, filings, datasets and the outlets that did the original reporting, because a claim you can check yourself is worth more than one you take from us. Those pages belong to other people. We do not control what they publish after we link, so a link is a citation rather than an endorsement.
Quotes, photographs, video, charts and embedded posts from third parties are used under licence, with permission, or as fair quotation in the course of reporting, and they are credited to the source that owns them. Copyright stays with that owner. If you hold rights in something we have used and think the credit is wrong, our copyright and DMCA page explains how to tell us.
Advertising and affiliate links
Display advertising is bought and sold as advertising. It is labelled, it sits in its own container, and its presence beside an article says nothing about the article. Nobody buying space sees unpublished work or has a route to changing a piece, as our advertising page sets out.
Some articles, mostly Travel and consumer Tech, carry affiliate links that may pay us a commission, and where they exist the article says so. The product was chosen before anybody checked whether a commission was available, and a recommendation is a writer’s opinion rather than a guarantee it will suit you. Sponsored articles carry the sponsor’s name at the top and no staff byline.
If you spot an error
Errors get through, and we would rather hear it from a reader than leave a wrong sentence in a piece somebody is about to book a flight on. Write to support@worldhab.com with “correction” in the subject line, include the link, quote the sentence you dispute, and where you can, point at the source that has it right.
What happens next is on our corrections page. The fix goes on the article itself, at the address you found it, with a note saying what it used to say. You do not have to be the subject of the story to report an error, and you do not have to be polite about it.
What you do with it is your decision
To the fullest extent the applicable law allows, we accept no liability for loss arising from a decision you took after reading something here, whether a purchase, a trade, a booking, a medical choice or a legal step. That includes indirect and consequential loss, lost profit and lost bookings. Nothing here tries to exclude liability a publisher may not exclude, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence and for fraud.
Put less formally: we work at getting it right, we correct it in public when we do not, and the decision is still yours. The full legal terms covering use of the site are in our terms of service. Anything about this page goes to the same address with “disclaimer” in the subject line, and an editor reads it.
